Volvo got a long history in saloon car racing, and should do well with this car in DTM or Lemans type racing, and get new appeal to the brand. The idea was to create a Diesel or "green" racing car with low emissions and high output, combined with nasty looks. Design is all Vizualtech team.

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Apart from the handmade forged wheels and further sports extras, the car tuning specialists offer a carbon fibre front apron and a carbon fibre rear lid. As is the case with big brother SLR, the chief attraction at the rear is an extendable wing.

In order to enhance the classic SL model’s good looks, aerodynamic components made of genuine carbon fibre have been added, further stressing the SL’s racy character. The front apron has a particularly eye-catching design and prevents excessive lift forces. Further lateral air intakes have been added to provide the engine with sufficient quantities of fresh air while the rear diffuser brings the aerodynamic modifications to perfection. But, the highlight par excellence is the rear lid. It is a patented carbon construction (KICHERER Downforce System) including an electronically extendable rear wing. Its control is speed-dependent and, thus, assures an optimal contact pressure at the rear axle. The complete system is available for all SL R230 models – model upgrading included.

The SL by KICHERER is carried away on RS-1 forged wheels. The handmade three-part lightweight constructions are rotary forged and equipped with stainless steel exterior wheel discs. The programming of the ABC suspension lowers the vehicle up to 25 millimetres for better handling and much more driving pleasure.

Securing a Great RV or Motorhome Loan

RV loans and financing are the trickiest part of purchasing an rv, especially if you are buying a used rv. Financing is typically where many dealerships make extra profits at your expense, often through special add-ons, higher rates, or special dealer fees, they pass on to you at inflated costs. Many of the larger RV dealers offer good rv financing in-house and should at least be compared and considered. They often have such a large volume of applications that are specially targeted to RV's, that they can compete with typical banks and credit unions.

Follow these steps and you will come out ahead. First, settle on an rv that you want without discussing financing, settle on a price, agree to a trade in value (if you have one), then tell the salesman you are willing to discuss any financing options they have but do NOT tell them or show them the terms you have already gotten approval for from your bank or other rv loan financing source. Spend a little time now seeing what they offer BEFORE you visit the rv lot and get an rv loan.
RV loan interest rate - Your interest rate will vary because it depends on many factors, which include your loan total, expected down payment, credit profile and the value of your RV. Most companies will want to process your rv loan application BEFORE discussing terms. This is normal and since most companies can complete your application in less than an hour, it shouldn't be an issue.

Down payment - Most rv loans require a 20% down payment. People with great credit however often qualify for special programs that have no minimum down requirements. Mostly your credit score will determine this.
Minimum rv loan amount - I rarely see loans processed in amounts less than $10,000. The value of the rv is just not worth the risk to the bank if they have to repossess it. It costs the bank the same amount to repossess your $9,000 pop-up trailer as it does to repossess a $400,000 class A diesel coach. With the big coach they have something that is easy to sell. With the pop-up, they do not.
Loan term length - most companies will not loan on an RV for less than 5 years. Most larger companies will loan for as long as 20 years since they see the bigger coaches as investments and many times as primary residences.

RV loan application fee - many companies charge to find out if they can loan you money. Do not pay it! INSIST on a free application approval process. If they are not willing to take this small risk on you then they are less likely to be perfect to work with. Don't waste your time.
RV makes that can be financed - Many banks only want to loan on large, expensive Class A motorhomes or buses. If you are buying a class B, class C motorhome, travel trailer, 5th wheel, park model, truck camper or van conversion, ask up front, before you get into the lengthy application, if they loan on that kind of vehicle. If they just stare at you when you say 5th wheel, or if filling out an online application there is not "drop down" box that contains the word "5th wheel" for vehicle type, then move on.
Financing older rv's - It can be quite difficult without perfect credit to finance an older rv. Some companies will go back 12-15 years on a real solid class A with a serious legitimate survey or appraisal on it. Other companies will not touch anything older than 7 years regardless of value or credit score. The point is ask FIRST if they loan on your year rv so you don't waste time filling out an application for an rv loan that will lead nowhere.

Credit score - the better companies that will finance you on an rv loan without up front application fees or credit check fees, who have good interest rates, and can get it done in an hour or two, will require a credit score of 600 - 640 and sometimes higher. If you don't have a credit score in that range you will need to be more flexible in your approach and in the interest rates you will be willing to accept.
Getting an rv loan AFTER you bought the rv - Some banks have a cash recapture program that allows you to buy an rv using your cash, like when you stumble on a great incredible deal or distress sale and need to by it that day, then they give you the loan later and take possession of your title until payoff. This can typically be done up to 4-6 months after the rv purchase.

RV Loan calculation - Make sure the loan you get is a simple interest loan. This way you only pay interest on the principal you owe, and that amount gets reduced every payment you make on the rv loan.

Motor Homes - Perfect Holiday Solution

When looking at motor homes there is much to consider, whether to buy new or used, the budget at your disposal and what kind of functions you would like your motor home to perform. There is the question of whether towed caravans instead of powered motor homes will better suit your needs. Ultimately the choice is yours but here are some helpful tips to first time 'motor homers'.

You should be especially careful if looking at motor homes in the private listings and on the internet. Your first concern should be whether the paperwork is up to scratch and contains all the relevant information. A complete service history should accompany all motor homes, as should any registration papers and any details of work undertaken on the home. It is also worth taking a mechanic with you who can check over the engine thoroughly; this kind of knowledge is invaluable and ensures you do not obtain a motor home that won't take you anywhere. Added to this the VIN number and other serial numbers should match the accompanying documentation.

Take your time when looking at motor homes, do not let the seller rush you; motor homes are considerable investment so care should always be taken. Once again a mechanic is useful to check the state of the house batteries as these can be expensive to replace. Also the braking system is of especial importance, you want your home to be able to stop safely and in good time.

When looking at the interior of motor home there are number of essential factors that should be on your checklist. The most obvious thing to look for when looking at homes is to check for any structural defects, as these can be expensive to remedy. Also as with many other forms of mobile travel damp should be a major concern; this will be noticeable in the corner of homes in the form of patches behind lockers and on the ceiling. Damp can sometimes mean a leaking roof which is an extremely costly repair job.

You should also make a detailed check of the kitchen and bathroom when looking at motor homes. Carpets should be of extra interest and flooring more generally. Once again damp should be what you are looking for, damp patches on the floor can mean a leaking water system that could cause the frame of the whole home to rot and become weak. The toilet should also be inspected thoroughly to ensure it can hold water and will keep those nasty smells at bay and away from the interior of the vehicle.

Naturally the appliances should be checked when perusing motor homes; items such as the microwave oven, the stove and fridge are essential appliances that need to work for successful holidaying. Away from the kitchen, the heating system should be looked at. Being thorough is the name of the game, flick every switch, open every door and check all the cupboards. Without a detailed check you may end up with a motor home that is ill equipped for travel.

SC troopers used cars to ram suspects

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Videos have surfaced showing two members of the South Carolina Highway Patrol using their cruisers to ram fleeing suspects, just weeks after two leaders of the agency resigned because of a furor over a trooper's use of a racial slur.

In one of the two new dash-cam videos, which were first reported Wednesday by The Post and Courier of Charleston, Lance Cpl. Steven C. Garren drives after a man on foot, striking him when he crosses in front of Garren's cruiser. The man flips over the car's hood and into high grass on the roadside.

"Yeah, I hit him. I was trying to hit him," Garren, who is white, can be heard telling another trooper.

In the other, Lance Cpl. Alexander Richardson drives between apartment buildings, on sidewalks and past onlookers in an attempt to run down a suspect. After about a minute, Richardson's car bumps the man, who grabs the vehicle in an attempt to steady himself. The man doesn't fall and takes off running again.

Sid Gaulden, a spokesman for the Department of Public Safety, said neither trooper was available for comment. A message left at a number for an Alexander Richardson was not immediately returned. Garren did not have a listed phone number.

The videos depicted isolated events, and the troopers involved had been punished, Gaulden said.

Garren received a three-day suspension, which he has appealed. Richardson was reprimanded and completed a stress management course, disciplinary records show.

Geoffrey Alpert, a University of South Carolina criminal justice professor who consults with police on pursuit policies, said using cars as battering rams shows poor decision making.

"They're just lazy," Alpert said. "Rather than get out of their car or get in a foot race, or tackle someone ... they'll just hit them with the car door, with the bumper, and hope they don't run them over."

Alpert said he had never seen any training materials that advised authorities to use cruisers to hit suspects on foot.

The suspects in both of the new videos are black. One of the troopers involved is white, and the other is black, Gaulden said.

The Post and Courier's report about the videos comes three weeks after Highway Patrol Col. Russell Roark and his boss, Public Safety Director James Schweitzer, submitted their resignations over their handling of an incident in which a white trooper used racial slur during a traffic stop.

"You better run," then-Lance Cpl. Daniel C. Campbell said, using a derogatory term for blacks, "because I'm fixin' to kill you."

Campbell was reprimanded, suspended and ordered to undergo anger and diversity training. After Roark resigned, Campbell was reassigned to administrative duties. Gov. Mark Sanford said he should have been fired.

Schweitzer has said he would step down after his replacement is confirmed.

Used Trucks For Sale - Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Dump, Trailers

Welcome to the most outstanding trucks buy sell site and get free space for your classifieds ads for Trucks & Trailers. Trucks Junction is all about buying and selling trucks or trailers. I would suggest there are probably some tremendous values, tremendous deals out there.”
Bill Burnett, of Trailblazer RV Centre, says consumers will get more for their money.
“We’ll have a 32-foot bunk model travel trailer that’s going to be around the $22,000 range,” Burnett says. “A few years ago that was probably closer to $28,000.”
ArrKann Trailer and RV Centre promises much the same.
“Last year we thought we had good prices,” says Ken Friedenberg, whose dealership will have a full range of towable units at the show, from fold-down tent trailers to big holiday trailers. “This year they’re even better. Organizers hope to boost that number to more than 26,000 this year.
Showgoers can while away the time walking through the units each dealer will have on display. Here’s what you need to know to do it safely

But of course there are a few basic things you should know about towing a trailer correctly and safely. Let’s start with your automobile, SUV, or pick-up truck. Every vehicle manufacturer establishes what each specific vehicle can tow without violating their factory warranty. Then the manufacturer of the towing platforms to which the towing ball mounts, rates each of their platforms in “classes“. For instance, Class 1 (small) through Class 4 (large). The tow balls (some call them hitch balls) come in different sizes, with a small diameter for small, light trailers and larger diameters for larger, heavier trailers.
“Light” trailers have one axle with two tires; “heavy” trailers have up to three axles with six tires. The job of the tires is to carry most of the total weight (trailer plus load).
This is where problems can occur. If too much weight is put on the towing ball, the tow vehicle’s rear end will go down and the front end will go up. The first thing you’d notice would be your headlights throwing light up into the trees! The next thing you would notice as a result of this “imbalance” would be that the steering stability would disappear. Next, without the correct weight on every tire, the braking ability of your tow vehicle is diminished dramatically. That’s dangerous.
The hitch platform manufacturers and the vehicle manufacturers rate their products by indicating the maximum weight that should go on the tow ball. When the towing weight of the trailer exceeds the ball load capacity, but not that of the tow vehicle, a special towing platform called an “equalization hitch” is used. This device actually forces the hitch load to all four tires of the tow vehicle, pushing the front tires down with more load and unloading some of the weight from the rear tires, keeping the tow vehicle level and all the tow vehicle tires equally loaded. Head lights, steering, and braking thus remain normal.
So if you’re buying a new towing vehicle, please make sure that the dealership has a towing expert on staff - many do not!
If you are buying a trailer and towing for the first time with an existing vehicle, most reputable trailer dealers will already have seen all the incorrect things that novices have done and will be glad to assist you in getting everything hooked up correctly - before you get into trouble.
There are a limited number of dealers (the bigger the dealer the better) who specialize in installing tow hitches and the related wiring - from trailer lights to trailer braking systems. Larger trailers actually have their own braking systems - the thinking being that if tow vehicles can stop themselves, trailers should be able to stop themselves too. The trailer brake controller is usually mounted close to the steering wheel and is fully automatic. Whether the driver of the tow vehicle needs to brake softly or hit the pedal hard, the trailer brake controller matches the need for a safe, controlled stop.
Another place to get the correct, up-to-date advice about towing is one of the big, established recreation vehicle shows like the 2008 Spring Motor Home & Trailer Show. This show will have exhibits showing the full line of towable RV’s and all exhibits at this show are sponsored and trained by the manufacturer. They can answer any question about towing that a novice, or seasoned, RV’er might have. The show starts Wednesday, February 27th at 10am and runs through Sunday, March 2nd at 5:00pm. It is of course held at the giant International Centre on Airport Rd., just north of the airport entrance. It’s the only venue in Ontario where you can hold an RV show this big and this diverse.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://globalrvtrader.blogspot.com/2008/02/anyone-can-tow-trailer-heres-what-you.html' title='Anyone can tow a trailer. There are three basic types of motor homes, or else called recreational vehicles (RVs), which are generally used for vacating purposes; hence the term “recreational.” Whichever the category one selects to buy the issue here is that these temporary traveling homes are a great way to experience the world and not sacrifice any of the amenities usually found in a hotel room.
While motor homes are categorized into several different types, a minimal RV typically contains beds, a table, a food preparation space and storage compartments. Larger models offer full bathrooms, installed refrigerators, living and sleeping areas, satellite television and internet access capabilities. Ranging in size and prices, there are basically three kinds of motor homes. Class A consists of bus-type custom body vehicles build on a truck chassis and look like busses. Class B motor homes are mainly van campers and travel trailers, while finally Class C RVs are called mini-motor homes and due to their smaller size are much easier to handle on the road and fit nicely in large car parking spots.
Having an “L” shaped trailer these motor homes are mostly seen in roads and preferred by most potential motor home buyers.
Having multiple advantages like that one is not forced to move ones things in and out of hotel rooms, is not committed to find and rent multiple rooms to visit different areas and the fact that preparing food always saves money, recreational vehicles are becoming extremely desirable for those wishing not to exceed a certain budget limit. At the same time, RVs provide more organized living spaces and protects its habitats from the extreme weather conditions tend campers have to endure. On the other hand, the low fuel economy, the lack of having a maid service taking care of the daily clutter and the fact that larger motor homes can be difficult to handle on the streets or inside parking lots, might be viewed as disadvantages a potential motor home owner would have to consider before purchasing one.
